In yet another zoning dispute between a church and city officials, in Marietta, Georgia, Rev. Frederick Anderson's Covenant Christian Ministries has filed suit in federal district court in Atlanta. The
Atlanta Journal Constitution today said that Marietta City Council rejected a rezoning request to permit the church to build a sanctuary, school and dormitory on land the church purchased for $1.6 million. Refusing to look for a new location, Anderson says "This is where God wants us." The suit alleges free exercise, due process and RLUIPA violations.
