A $400,000 federal grant to Baylor University (
press release) may shed light on the wisdom of funding faith based social programs. The grant, from the Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, will fund a multidisciplinary initiative to study the role of religiousness, religiosity, religious institutions and congregations, as well as religious practices and beliefs, in promoting prosocial behavior among youth.
