Indonesia Will Keep Religion On Identity Cards

Indonesia's House of Representatives and government have agreed to continue to list religion on identity cards of Indonesians, despite protests from many who say that the practice leads to divisiveness in the country. Asia News.it reported yesterday that this decision was made as part of a larger parliamentary debate on a civil registry bill. Indonesia permits only one of six religions to be listed, and this has led to discrimination against followers of other faiths.
