Final Attempt To Overturn Britain's Sexual Orientation Regulations Loses

Yesterday, a final attempt to prevent Britain's Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations from going into effect was defeated in the House of Lords by a vote of 168 to 122. Christianity Today reports that the defeated motion put forward by Baroness O’Cathain, as 1000 Christians in support of the motion gathered outside Parliament in a prayer vigil. Following the vote, the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship issued a statement saying in part: "The result of the vote will mean that rather than balancing rights, the right to live a homosexual lifestyle will trump the right to live a Christian lifestyle."
