Jewish Congress Members Criticize Kosher Meat Processor

On Monday, twelve Jewish members of Congress, all Democrats, sent a letter (full text) to the owners of Agriprocessors Inc., criticizing the large kosher meat processing firm. As summarized in a press release from New York Rep. Gary Ackerman: "The letter expresses deep concern over the company’s alleged mistreatment of its workers and animals and the violation of U.S. laws and Jewish standards."
