Dutch Court Orders Prosecution of Wilders For Hate Speech
In the Netherlands, the Amsterdam Appeals Court has reversed a decision by the public prosecutor's office and ordered the prosecution of parliament member Geert Wilders for inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims and insulting Muslim worshippers. BBC News yesterday reported on the decision against the right wing Freedom Party leader who last year had posted a film titled Fitna on the Internet. The film equates Islam with violence and compares the Quran to Hitler's Mein Kampf. (See prior posting.) Wilders called the court's decision an attack on his freedom of expression.
