Germany's Federal Administrative court yesterday ruled that while a student's right to pray at school is constitutionally protected, a school may ban a student from praying when it disrupts the school's operations.

Al Jazeera both report on the decision that involved a Muslim student who, with several others, laid down his jacket in the school hallway between classes and prayed. The school's principal objected, in part because severe conflicts had already broken out among Muslim students over interpretation of the Qur'an.
