Yesterday the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom
released a report (
full text) on the Sudanese government's violations of international human rights law in the Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states that border the Republic of South Sudan. Speaking at a press conference (
full text of remarks), USCIRF Chairman Leonard Leo said that even after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that led to the creation of South Sudan, President Omar al-Bashir is continuing to target people based on religion and ethnicity.
