EEOC Releases 2011 Enforcement and Litigation Statistics
The EEOC yesterday released its Enforcement and Litigation Statistics for 2011. A record number of religious discrimination claims were filed-- 4,151 (4.2% of all employment discrimination claims filed for the year). 4,608 religious discrimination claims were resolved in some fashion during the year. In 2,737 of those, the EEOC found no reasonable cause to believe that discrimination had occurred. 1,012 claims were closed for various administrative reasons.
