Spanish Supreme Court Invalidates City's Burqa Ban

ANSAMED reports that on Thursday the Supreme Court of Spain overturned a local ban on clothing that covers the face, such as the burqa.  The Catalonian city of Lierda enacted the ban in 2010.  In a challenge to it by the Catalan Muslim Association, the Supreme Court ruled that banning the Islmic veil infringes religious freedom.
