Lyle Jeffs, a leader of the polygamous FLDS Church, has fled while out on bond awaiting trial on
charges of conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. As reported by
AP and
KUTV News, after being denied bond several times as a potential flight risk, earlier this month Jeffs was finally released in home confinement on the condition he wear a GPS monitor and leave the Salt Lake City house where he was staying only for work, doctors' appointments and religious services. A warrant for Jeffs arrest was issued Sunday.
