Windsor Terrace Patch reports that Rachel Freier will become the first Hasidic Jewish woman elected as a judge in New York state. Frier won 41% of the votes in a 3-way Democratic primary for 5th District Civil Court in Kings County. The district encompasses various communities in Brooklyn. Apparently Freier will be unopposed in the November election. Freier, a mother of six and and attorney, is particularly known for her role in founding
