Mickens v. General Electric Co., (WD KY, Nov. 29, 2016), s Kentucky federal district court ruled that Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act supports a claim for employment discrimination brought by a transgender African American male employee. The court said in part:
Significantly, Plaintiff alleges that GE both permitted continued discrimination and harassment against him and subsequently fired him because he did not conform to the gender stereotype of what someone who was born female should look and act like.
WFPL yesterday reported on the decision.
