The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments (
audio of arguments) in
EEOC v. RG and GR Harris Funeral Homes Inc. In the case, a Michigan federal district court upheld a funeral home's defense under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act to a charge by the EEOC that the funeral home, in enforcing its dress code for males, engaged in gender stereotyping. The funeral home dismissed a transgender employee who was in the process of transitioning from male to female. (See
