In
Council of Organizations and Others for Education About Parochiaid v. State of Michigan, (MI Sup. Ct., March 9, 2018), the Michigan Supreme Court in a brief order denied leave to appeal a preliminary injunction issued by the Court of Claims. That injunction prohibited payment of $2.5 million the legislature had allocated to private schools to cover the cost of complying with state mandates. (See
prior posting.) Chief Justice Markham filed a dissenting opinion arguing that the decision of the Court of Claims should be reversed.
