On March 25, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb
signed Senate Bill 203 (
full text). The new law expands the state's murder and manslaughter laws to include killing of a fetus "at any stage of development". Prior law covered only killing of a fetus that has attained viability. The law does not apply to a lawfully performed abortion or to a pregnant woman who terminates her own pregnancy or kills a fetus she is carrying. Liberty Counsel issued a
press release on the new law.
