Walsh v. Friendship Village of South County, (ED MO, Jan. 16. 2019), a Missouri federal district court, relying on a 1989 decision by the 8th Circuit under Title VII, held that sexual orientation discrimination is not covered by the federal Fair Housing Act. At issue was the refusal, on religious grounds, of a senior living community to rent an apartment to a married lesbian couple.
