Boydston v. Mercy Hospital Ardmore, Inc., (WD OK, March 25, 2020), an Oklahoma federal district court held that a Catholic hospital and its parent bodies are religious entities that are exempt under (
42 USC §2000e-1(a)) from the religious discrimination prohibitions of Title VII. Based on that conclusion, the court dismissed the Title VII (and parallel state anti-discrimination law) claims of religious discrimination brought by a power plant technician at the hospital.
