As
previously reported, in 2018 the Oregon Supreme Court suspended state circuit court judge Vance D. Day from his judicial office for three years without pay. The suspension was based in part on Judge Day's refusal to solemnize same-sex marriages. Now in
Vance v. Department of Revenue, (OR Tax Ct., March 13, 2020), the Oregon Tax Court held that Day improperly claimed as a deduction on his state income tax $128,000 in legal fees paid on his behalf by his legal defense fund.
