The EEOC
announced yesterday the entry of a consent decree under which the Memphis (TN)- based Versant Supply Chain, Inc. and the Dallas(TX)-based AT&T Services, Inc. have agreed to pay $150,000 to victims of religious discrimination. The companies had enforced policies that prohibit employees from wearing any head coverings (except knit caps). It refused to make accommodations for religious head coverings such as hijabs. The companies also agreed to make policy changes.
