Religion Clause Nominated For ABA Journal Blawg 100

I am pleased to announce that Religion Clause has been nominated by the ABA Journal for inclusion in its 8th Annual Blawg 100 rankings.  This is the sixth time in eight years that Religion Clause has made this prestigious list of the top 100 blogs directed at audiences interested in law and lawyers.  This year, Religion Clause was awarded the added honor of becoming part of the Blawg 100  Hall of Fame-- a group of 30 blogs described by the ABA Journal as blogs which have "consistently been outstanding throughout multiple Blawg 100 lists."

Now that the ABA Journal editors have narrowed the list to 100, the Journal asks you to vote for your favorite in each of its 13 categories. Religion Clause has been nominated in the "Profs" category. You may cast your votes in all categories at this link.  The ABA Journal requires a short registration process as part of the voting in order to prevent ballot box stuffing.  I hope you find Religion Clause a worthwhile enough read to vote for it.  Voting ends on Dec. 19.  Thanks to all who nominated Religion Clause for this honor.

A Note To Religion Clause Readers

A Note to Religion Clause Reders:

The corollary to this famous New Yorker cartoon by Peter Steiner is that on the Internet nobody knows where you are located either.  So I wanted to let readers know that this week I am moving from Atlanta to the Detroit, Michigan area.  I know there are a number of Religion Clause readers in Michigan, and I look forward to perhaps our crossing paths as I emigrate back North.  In the meantime, blogging on Religion Clause over the next week is likely to be spotty.  Other than that, the blog will continue to look the same.-- HMF

Religion Clause Is 9 Years Old Today

Religion Clause is 9 years old today! Thanks to all of you who have made the blog successful as the "go to" resource for coverage of religious liberty and church-state developments.  I appreciate your readership and hope you will continue to recommend the blog to others.  I remain committed to religiously and ideologically neutral reporting, with extensive links particularly to primary source material. As always, I welcome your e-mails on leads for blog posts, or on factual corrections. You can reach me at religionclause@gmail.com. Also feel free to send along any suggestions for change through Comments to this post.

Note To Readers-- Still Working With Template

Religion Clause followers know I have been tinkering with the blog's traditional template style.  Some intensive users found the new format to require excessive scrolling.  So I am tinkering some more-- now with a wider body and Arial typeface. This makes all but the longest posts readable without scrolling. I have also added a "Recent Posts" box at the top of the sidebar to allow you to browse recent post topics without scrolling. Particularly to those who liked the first new template, let me know it this eliminates its advantages for you.  And for those who did not like it, let me know if this is still too much scrolling for you.  By the way, all standard browsers allow you to increase or decrease the size of the print you are reading by zooming in or out.

Note To Readers On Template Redesign

I have done a bit of a redesign on the template for Religion Clause blog, hopefully to make it more readable.  I invite comments on whether it has succeeded.
