10th Circuit: Ministerial Exception Covers Hostile Work Environment and Equal Pay Act Claims
In Skrzypczak v. Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa, (10th Cir., July 13, 2010), the 10th Circuit applied the "ministerial exception" to dismiss gender and age discrimination claims brought by the director of the Department of Religious Formation of the Tulsa Diocese. The court held that the ministerial exception doctrine applies to hostile work environment claims against a church brought under Title VII as well as to Equal Pay Act claims. [Thanks to Steven H.
