Town Council Member Sworn In As First Open Pastafarian Office Holder

In Pomfret, New York last Friday, Christopher Schaeffer was sworn in as a member of the Town Council wearing a pasta colander on his head-- the traditional headgear of the satirical Pastafarian movement. Gawker reports that this is the first open member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster to be sworn into public office.
