Federal Prisons Will No Longer Serve Pork Products
The Washington Post reported yesterday that federal Bureau of Prisons is removing all pork products from its national menu for federal inmates. Pork producers are distressed at the decision that was based on a survey of inmates' food preferences, as well as on cost factors. However Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, predicted that the decision "will stoke the fires of Islamophobia based on the usual conspiracy theories."
