Certiorari Denied In Challenge To Kaporos Ritual

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday denied review in Alliance to End Chickens as Kaporos v. New York City Police Department, (Docket No. 18-1322, certiorari denied 5/28/2019). (Order List.)  In the case, New York state's highest court agreed that a petition for a writ of mandamus to require enforcement of public health and animal cruelty laws against the Jewish pre-Yom Kippur ritual of kaporos should be denied.
